Universities that accept RSL qualifications

Hi,

I’m looking into my options for university and I’m not sure if I want to study performing arts or something different. One of my qualifications is RSL performing arts, and I can’t seem to find a concrete answer online as to which universities accept RSL qualifications.

If anyone knows any universities that do/don’t accept them, it would be greatly appreciated as I’m just trying to weigh up my options at the moment.

Thank you

This is a vocational qualification, its not a qualification with the same academic heft as an A level. Whatever your school/college tries to tell you and whatever RSL tries to suggest, its not 'equivalent' to an A level or even a BTEC.

Be aware that a) only a small number of Unis make offers in UCAS points. If a Uni instead makes offers as specific A level grades (ABB etc) then you can't just substitute an RSL qualification unless that Uni specifically accepts it for the course you have applied for, and b) even for UCAS points Unis, they will usually only accept vocational Music/Drama qualifications for performance courses - because they are not relevant to other course subjects and because they are not academic qualifications.

According to the UCAS lists of qualifications and their UCAS points, RSL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Creative and Performing Arts (601/7683/0), grade D, attracts 144 UCAS points. See Calculate your UCAS Tariff points | UCAS

You need to check that each Uni you want to apply to actually accepts this qualification and for the course you want to apply for. As its an unusual qualification, they are unlikely to list this on course pages, so you will need to email each Uni with a list of the exact titles of all the qualifications you are taking and ask if they are acceptable for entry to that specific course. There is no short-cut to this, you will just have to send those emails and ask.
