UCAS Reference Letter Issues

Hi there!

I am an international student applying to five universities in the UK through UCAS. My application is about 83% complete-I just need to finish my personal statement and confirm my five university choices.

The issue I am facing is with the reference letter. My referee submitted it, but they forgot to include my predicted grades. I tried calling UCAS for help, and although they answered twice, the calls ended abruptly without resolving the issue. I asked if they could either cancel the current reference or send my referee a new link, but I have not had any success.

Since this is not working out, I would like to ask: can I create a new UCAS account, re-enter all my information, and have my referee submit the reference again with the predicted grades included? To be clear, I have not submitted my first application yet and I do not intend to apply twice because I know that's not allowed.

Would it be okay to do this or no?

yeah that would be totally fine!
If you make a second account then UCAS will look to merge them together. I’m honestly not sure how they’d resolve the conflict between the two records both with an application in progress.

It would honestly just be easier to call them and get them to send it back to your referee.

I'll try to call them when they open up today, I hope it can get resolved. Thank you!

No worries. If you struggle with the phone again they do accept direct messages via FB and Insta. I have heard in the past they were quite responsive there.

I called them earlier today and they resolved my issue! Thank you for responding, I was feeling bummed out yesterday about my application.

Yup! It was fine. I called them again and they resolved the issue. I'm so glad I didn't wait for the reference last minute. I would've been screwed if this happened on October 14. 😂

Excellent, glad to hear it was all sorted pretty quickly.
