Applying to Uni of Glasgow as an American?

I'm a senior in high school and I'm trying to figure out how best to apply to UofG with little to no help from others. I have a couple questions about the application process itself!

1. CommonApp? UCAS? -- I added UofG to my CommonApp, but I'm hearing mixed answers on if I'm actually able to apply through it. I created a UCAS account as well to possibly apply through there, but using it has been confusing. Is using one application system better than the other?

2. Entry Requirement Equivalents? -- My current GPA right now is a 3.9 weighted and 3.7 unweighted. According to the uni website that would land me at a A*AA. I haven't taken the ACT but my SAT was a 1200, which is under the usual requirement. Will both of these be considered? Or will I choose one specifically to submit? Does it matter that much?

Overall, I just need tips lol. Help!

My daughter (American) is gonna apply to UofG via UCAS in the coming weeks. UofG are on CommonApp as well but it seems to take them forever to get the application going so we are going with UCAS. UCAS is open and is pretty simple to handle. Only thing is the recommendation part where your teacher rec need to log in herself to UCAS and write the letter there... We visited UofG in April and loved it!

Hiya,

I don't know if this will help but as an international student, I applied through UCAS for UofG as well as other universities in the UK. There is a lot of guidance, support and resources online about UCAS since its a standardised system but make sure you don't miss the deadline. In terms of your grades its always best to check with the admissions team since we also do offer contextualised offers and consider all kinds of factors and backgrounds when putting through offers, even if you don't exactly meet the requirements during conversion.

You can send them a message here - https://www.gla.ac.uk/study/enquire/

Hope this helps!
