Warwick law

Am I likely to get an offer for LAW LLB at WARWICK.
I am predicted A*A*A* (politics, sociology, psychology) however im concerned about my GCSES and how they will impact my application.

English Lit- 8
English Lang- 8
Sociology- 8 (1 mark off 9)
Spanish- 7
Combined Science - 6-5
Maths- 5
Geography- 5
Econ - 3
I went to an average secondary school where the majority of ppl got 5s in maths.
I also qualify for contextual offers (FSM, parents never been to uni, Postcode)

Is this a realistic choice?

Warwick weigh GCSEs VERY heavily, unless you maybe have a valid reason for performing badly i.e. family illness/injury to yourself or something I would say avoid Warwick for law.

I am just about to start my 1st year Law at Warwick. I had very similar GCSEs to you, but not contextual. Warwick offer was A*AA. I was concerned about my GCSEs too, achieved all 5 offers (2 LNAT uni & 3 non-LNAT) and firmed Warwick.

I was predicted and achieved 3A* too for Eng lit, Geography and Biology.

Hi there,

For our Law courses, the GCSE requirements are at least a grade 4 in Maths and a grade 6 in English Language. Since you’ve already met these, you’re in a good position.

What will matter most in your application are your A-level results and the strength of your personal statement. Performance in your other GCSE subjects is unlikely to play a major role, as long as you’ve met the minimum requirements in Maths and English.

So with strong A-levels and a good personal statement, you should be in a strong position to apply.

Best wishes,
Joseph (UoW Official Rep)

I got an interview at my chosen college, Emmanuel in Cambridge, offers at Nottingham, Leeds and KCL.

My LNAT score was 34.
My PS lacked quality extra-curricular, as I couldn’t get work experience anywhere! This was raised at my interview.
Hence, possible rejection from Cambridge!, which is also my hometown.

I went to KCL several times but just didn’t feel the vibe compared to Warwick. So, I firmed Warwick & had KCL as my insurance, both wanted A*AA, however I achieved 3A* on results day.

So far, I have really enjoyed Fresher’s week at Warwick, I live on campus in a room with an en-suite, my 12 flatmates are all lovely and friendly, have made friends with other Law students too.
I feel that I have made the right choice at Warwick. I like the course structure and timetable.

I can’t wait for lectures to start on Tuesday.
Feel free to ask questions.
