HI @Parbhjot

I hope you are well! Engineering sounds like an exciting choice! Although I cant directly help you with which uni to go to, I can give you some advice. Even know going to a uni that offers a good version of the course you are after is important, it is also important to go to a place that you like and will think you feel the most welcome in. I would strongly advise attending as many open days as possible, this way you can really get a feel for the town/city and see what it is like first hand!

If you get a good feeling about a place whilst you are there and you like the vibes then sometimes that is enough to indicate that it is the right place for you! I chose to come to Liverpool because I love the city and feel very much at home here even though it is nearly 3 hours away from where I live! Obviously it is crucial that you like the course the uni offers and it meets your criteria however, definitely pick somewhere that you know you will enjoy and feel comfortable in!

I hope this response has helped slightly, let me know if you have any more questions, I am more than happy to help!

Thanks, Matt 😁

At LSBU, we offer a BEng (Hons) Chemical Engineering with Foundation Year, which is a great option if you want to study chemical engineering but need extra preparation in maths and science before starting the full degree. The course is accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), meaning it meets the highest professional standards and puts you on the pathway towards becoming a Chartered Engineer (CEng). This accreditation is an important marker of quality and ensures that what you study is directly aligned with industry needs. Entry requirements are typically 64 UCAS tariff points (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications) plus GCSEs in Maths and English at grade 4/C or above.

Studying chemical engineering at LSBU is a perfect choice if you are looking for a supportive, practical, and career-focused environment. The course combines theory with hands-on lab experience, computer simulations, and opportunities for industrial visits. You’ll also benefit from access to specialist facilities and the option to complete a placement year, giving you real industry exposure. The foundation year is designed to build your confidence and skills, so by the time you progress onto the main degree you’ll feel ready to succeed.

If you’d like to explore the course and facilities in person, LSBU is hosting Open Days on 4th and 15th October. These events are a great opportunity to meet lecturers and current students, tour the labs, and ask any questions about the course and your career goals. You can sign up here: LSBU Open Day.
