It's an outrage this course is still being run by some crooked universities. Robbing students of 20K for a dead-end course with no jobs, no respect, no prospects. Just to be called a doctor's assistant. Crazy.

If they complete the full MSc they could still use it for GEM applications, or PhD applications, especially if lab based projects are offered. One can also work in medical / pharmaceutical regulatory affairs with a medical communications company. Though these would more or less be consolatory options.
