Friend sold me student only LCR event but it’s registered in his name

Hi everyone, I’m in a bind and need advice from UEA students! I bought a ticket for a sold-out, student-only event at the LCR from my friend who’s emailed me the ticket but it’s registered to my friend’s UEA student ID (not mine) and displays his name. I’m a UEA student with my own student ID and I’m thinking I’ll be turned away at the door if they check IDs against the ticket.

Has anyone tried using a transferred ticket for an LCR student-only gig just using emailed ticket from mate? Do they always scan and check UEA student IDs, or is it just the ticket QR code? I have proof of the sale (texts and payment screenshot). Any tips on getting in, or am I out of luck? Thanks for any help!

I did the same thing for a concert at the LCR, they checked my student ID on entry and then at the ticket booth I just scanned the actual ticket instead of my student ID. I would however, just bring everything with you and if anyone asks just explain. You could always email the Su to double check - [email protected]. I’ve also had my family members buy me tickets for concerts at the LCR and the booking has been in their name, but it was fine as I just scanned the ticket QR.
