Have a look at some of the resources here - especially the recorded lectures etc.
The online taster events at Sheffield might also give you some ideas (final post)

Hi,

If you’re thinking of doing an EPQ and want to relate it to pharmacy, there are lots of options. Try to focus on topics that combine science into practice, medicine, and patient care. You could explore areas like drug development, public health, the role of pharmacists, medical ethics, issues such as antibiotic resistance, or how technology is changing healthcare.

A good EPQ question should be specific, researchable, and show your interest in pharmacy. It’s better to choose something you can really explore and reflect on, rather than a broad topic.

Hope this helps, good luck!

Hiya! Definitely agree with the advice that has already been given.

I did my EPQ about 5 years ago and just graduated from pharmacy at Bath. My topic was whether euthanasia should be legalised in the UK and I did a bit of primary research on people's opinions regarding this under different circumstances, just as an example. Obviously it's not super relevant to pharmacy, but I do feel doing it on a topic within healthcare strengthened my application to the pharmacy schools. I think that carrying out an EPQ is also super helpful for uni as it gives you some preparation to do research and write essays, which is a big part of many subjects, including pharmacy.

Best of luck with your EPQ - let us know what you decide on!
I'm happy to answer any questions you have about pharmacy or studying at Bath

I also used primary research from when I was on work experience in my local hospital pharmacy but I'm sure local community pharmacies may also be an option
