uni of sheffield transfer

hi,

does anyone know if uni of sheffield would accept a transfer to year 1 of biomed science from someone who is doing a foundation year elsewhere? i’m only asking since i initially wanted to study there but the foundation route they offer is only for 21+ y.o students and i am younger. i emailed them but they didn’t give me much info and said “apply through ucas and we will access your eligibility”

for reference i am currently doing my foundation year of biomed at hallam.

Do your level 3 qualifications (A levels, BTECs, etc.) meet Sheffield's entry requirements for Year 1. (I assume not, else you'd have already applied there.)

If not, then you're unlikely to be accepted. A foundation year is designed to lead to Year 1 of the "regular" degree at the same university. It isn't a qualification it its own right and so can't be used to meet the entry requirements of another university. Having said that, you've nothing to lose by trying.

I assume you've read Sheffield's "Information about transferring page, particularly the "Transferring into a single or dual degree from another university" section?
