Which unis should i apply to?

I am currently in my 3rd year of Biomedical science and I want to apply to medicine postgraduate. During my first year I did really well, however, my second year took a dip in my grades just barely making the required 2:1 for med school application. I recently got diagnosed with ADHD and decided to take the ucat with the extra time. I did really well on QR and DM but my score on VR was not good as all the passages were very long and I struggle to retain information. I ended up getting 2090 Band 1, I want to become a cardiologist and was told by my tutor that it required better ranking unis, however, I am not sure that with my current stats I can apply to these. Im wondering if there is any advice as to which unis I should apply to?

Hi!

Doing a biomedical degree for a graduate entry to medicine is the most common good opportunity, so well done. The drop in your year 2 grades hopefully won’t be disqualifying since your UCAT score is high. I recommend you to apply to 1st choice medical universities (e.g., King’s college GEM degree, Barts & london) and also back-up universities for guaranteed entry, an equal balance of both. In the meantime you can build your portfolio by doing more voluntary work experience in the NHS and other hospital settings.😊
