What law firm opportunities can I apply to as a first year law student?
I am a 1st year law student at the University of Birmingham and was wondering are insight schemes/open days the only opportunities that I am eligible for right now? Are roles like campus ambassadors for law firms later on?

This isn't an experience with a firm but maybe it's worth checking out Legal Cheeks virtual winter vacation scheme?
The event consists of series of short talks, workshops and Q&As with lawyers from leading firms.
The following firms are participating from what I can see on their website: Akin, BCLP, Charles Russell Speechlys, Clyde & Co, Dentons, Gateley, Lewis Silkin, Macfarlanes, Osborne Clarke, Ropes & Gray, Shoosmiths, Slaughter and May, Weil Gotshal & Manges, Wiggin and Womble Bond Dickinson.
The Scheme is open to all students so you should be eligible as a first year student!

Hi, I am a final year law student and currently the Brand Ambassador of CMS and have also worked as the Ambassador of another law firm in my 2nd year.
Usually applications of Brand Ambassador positions for law firms open around May and there are many that open later in summer as well. You can have a look at the vacancies and application opening dates at Higherin Academy. Usually, you would be applying at the end of your 1st year and start working as a Brand Ambassador in your 2nd year.
As for first year opportunities, CMS has an insight programme which is a week long scheme and you might also be fast tracked to the Assessment Centre day for Training Contract. You can find details of the Insight Programme and other opportunities here
