hiya, i might do but am unsure because i don’t know if i could get contextual points due to my parents not having higher education and i’m from england so not sure how much they’ll prioritise welsh students

if you’re contextual that’s a different case which i wouldn’t know abt, but i applied last yr as a non contextual english student and got rejected w all A*s 2710 b1 bc tbey told me the cutoff for us was 2800 (it’s probably a bit lower for welsh applicants). if your ucat is rly high then go for it tho

yeah like i’m sorry for making you have to change/reconsider your choices bc
ik it’s super stressful, but i just thought it would be helpful to let ppl know that this was what cardiff’s admissions team told me last year when i emailed them (asking why i got rejected). just a reminder that they said that was the cutoff for ‘non contextual, rest of UK’ applicants. idk the cutoff for other groups of people x

Hi guys,

Great to see you are all interested in coming to Cardiff, I am a student here and love it.
Yeah I can't see a Cardiff Dentistry 2026 thread, there are a few others about the process or ones from previous years.
I see you guys are helping each other out already by sharing your own experiences which is great. If you have questions about Cardiff Uni, being a student, or anything let me know.
Also we have an upcoming open day on Saturday the 18th of October (so in 10 days), if you are interested, its a great insight and a fun day!

I figured out my GCSE grade points through the point system from Cardiff and it’s coming up with 25 which is not competitive at all and I know Cardiff weighs GCSEs very heavily so is there still any point of me applying? Plus I have a distinction in additional maths I don’t know if that will help me in any way or they don’t consider it. Than you!
