Hey @lailaallam

There are so many options of bags to take to uni! So it really depends on what your personal preference is.
I use an Urban Outfitters tote-style bag, and it has held up great for 2 years so far.
If you wanted more of a handbag style, I have seen many on TikTok shop, but I just wouldn't know what the quality would be like. Other shops like Primark, New Look, and H&M also have many great options, so maybe it would be best to go into the shops and have a look around to get a better feel for them.

Let me know if you have any others questions!

Hi @lailaallam. My advice would be to go to your local charity shops if you want a reasonably priced one. If you do not prefer second hand then I would say shops like Primark or Matalan have rather nice bags. You can find stylish bags that are practical with different compartments. I hope this helped! 😄

Hi @lailaallam

It really depends on what you want to put in your bag and personal preference. I have a smallish rucksack because it's got lots of compartments so I can put my keys in one section, and my purse and phone in another bit zipped away more securely, and also so that it doesn't get lost in the bottom of the bag underneath books, pads of paper etc. I can also get my laptop in it so everything just needs one bag. I like it because it goes over both shoulders and I got it from Trespass - it was really good value price wise! I opted for the rucksack because it had a bit more space and I am trying to save money so I made lunch rather than buying it on campus, and so the bag fits that in too and everything can be zipped away.

I've used the tote bags too, I got mine from a charity and that was really good, it had lots of space and like the rucksack I can fit everything in it. I just found the zip on the rucksack stopped everything spilling out! You can get the bags just about anywhere, Waterstones have loads with really nice designs on them, but shops like Primark and H & M do cheaper ones - as the other replies said, so there really is a massive price range depending on the design on it that you want.

Hope this helps, if you have any other questions, please ask!

This is going to sound cliche but longchamp. I bought a fake one and it carries so many things and its such a basic handbag, it can go with any outfit. I have a medium size one but many people buy a large for university

Hi there!

I hope you are doing well. I have used some tote bags from typo in previous years and they have been very useful! I am able to fit everything in:

laptop

notepads

water bottle

lunch bag

pencil case

additional daily needs

They aren't too expensive but are very sturdy and can hold a lot of weight!

Hope this helps

Hi @lailaallam,

I went through many bags at university and I do think it varies on the course and what you will be carrying in it. I needed a sturdy bag as I would be carrying a lot back and forth as I studied a creative course. I tried tote bags, cross body bags and backpacks, it also depends what you find most comfortable. I found cross body bags comfortable as well as back packs so I stuck with that. Ask yourself what do you want or need from this bag? What will you be carrying in it and so on? Is it practicality or quality or style of it...

Something that was important to me in my bag was that it's water proof. With the British weather, it's often raining so I wanted to make sure my bag was protected from that. I also like when bags have various comportments so things are organised and easy to get to rather than when everything is just in a tote bag without any organisation. I would suggest going to some charity shops as that's were I found some great bags that lasted and didn't break the bank.

Best wishes,
^Zac

Hi there!

Great suggestions so far.

I personally have a problem with canvas tote bags for carrying lots of stuff because the straps are quite thin and so they can hurt your shoulder a lot, and also get sodden in the rain ☹️

I absolutely love these - Lekespring laptop tote bags from Amazon - very stylish and made of corduroy-type fabric, have spaces for laptop and water bottle and costs at time of posting about £26.

These are also quite nice - Captain Blues tote bags also from Amazon, with a removable shoulder strap and at time of posting £24.

Also - KALIDI bags - comes in quite a few colours and again, a lovely fabric and very practical/big enough for a laptop, £17.

I hope this adds, best of luck!
