Hi! I'm currently in Y13, and I'm supposed to be writing my personal statement and choosing which university / degree I want to do.
Previously, I wanted to take Biology as a degree, as I wanted to go into wildlife biology (but also keeping my options open in case I change my mind). However, recently I found out about UCLs arts and sciences degree - I like that I'll still be able to study biology as well as my other interests, such as psychology and anthropology. It also helps because I'm still a little uncertain if being a wildlife biologist is perfect for me.
However, I've also seen a lot of negative things about this course. People say the modules are too vague, jobs are limited or the course in general isn't fantastic. I've also been wondering how easy it would be to take a masters, because this is quite a broad degree and most Msc's need a high percentage of one type of modules. So now I'm wondering if I should continue considering this degree, or just stick with biological sciences as a whole. If anyone takes the arts and sciences degree, please let me know what you think!
And also, how is the language part of the degree? I've never been exceptional at learning new languages, so I was wondering how difficult that part is.
thank you!
