Official University of Kent 2026 Applicant Thread

Hi,
We hope you are all well! 😊

If you are thinking of applying to the University of Kent for 2026, this thread is for you! 😊

We are really excited to be welcoming our new students onto campus this weekend, and can't wait to welcome prospective students to our upcoming open days! You can view all of the courses available at Kent here.

Our TSR ambassadors are from a range of schools and courses, so be sure to let us know if you have any questions, and we will be happy to share our experiences😊

Meet the team:
Josie- MSc Social Research Methods📚️
Brandon- International Business with a Placement Year💼
Srijita- LLB Law third year⚖️
Reilyn Blue- Physics second year🔬

As a little ice breaker, we'd love you to share something about yourself! We have included some questions to spark some conversation!

What A Levels or BTEC's are you doing?

What courses are you interested in at University? Why?

Have you got any open days lined up?

What grades have you been predicted?

Have you got any career aspirations?

We hope to hear from you soon! 😁

Best wishes,
Uni of Kent Student Reps🎓️

It’s great to see the university preparing for both new and prospective students. Threads like this are really helpful for applicants to share updates, ask questions, and get a feel for campus life ahead of time.

I'll go first and share a few of mine!😊

I studied Psychology, Sociology, and Criminology at A-Level🔍️

I visited Medway Campus for their open day as my undergraduate degree was based there. I loved the open day as it gave me a feel for what studying at Kent would be like!😊

I studied BSc Social Science at Kent and achieved a first🎓️

I am now studying a Masters in Research Methods at Kent, but at Canterbury Campus. Again I visited the campus at the open day and I am looking forward to exploring a new campus this year😊

As for career aspirations, I love research and finding out new things! I am interested in research around place wellbeing and mental health😊

Hey everyone!

How are you all feeling? Is anyone applying for any courses with an early deadline (October 15th)? It’s a week to go, so just wanted to check in and see how you're feeling 😄

If you need some help with your personal statement, we have a whole forum dedicated to your questions (just don't post any part of your statement!), and some example statements in our PS library.

What are your main questions?

If you're not applying early, have you started looking around at booking any open days yet? If so, how are they going? Have you visited Kent yet?

Good luck everyone :woo:

Hi all!

If you haven't visited our campus yet and would like to, we have an open day this Saturday (11th) at our Canterbury Campus from 10:00-15:00! 🏫

We would love to see you there, you can book your place in here! It would be a great opportunity for you to explore the campus, accommodation, the courses you are interested in, the facilities such as the library, and support services available to students too! 😊

We have events happening throughout the year, so no worries if you can't make this one!

We have another Canterbury undergraduate open day on Saturday 15th November from 10:00-15:00

We have a Canterbury Postgraduate evening on Wednesday 19th November from 17:00-19:00

We have an undergraduate open day on Saturday 22nd November at our Medway Campus from 11:00-13:00

We have a Postgraduate open event on Saturday the 22nd November from 11:00-13:00 at our Medway Campus

We also have opportunities for students to book campus tours during the year, find out more here.

We also have virtual and online opportunities for some students to explore the campus. Click here for our virtual campus tours!

We understand that the costs of travelling may be a barrier for some students in visiting our campuses at open days. You can find out more about travel bursaries and the support available to students here.

Let us know if you have any questions! 😊

Best wishes,
Josie
