Cambridge Foundation Years, Access HE Laws and LNATs

Hi,

I'm a mature student currently taking an access course into law after doing prolonged music study and finding out there's no job prospects that can reasonably accommodate my physical disability.

I want my top option to be Cambridge law, and I booked an LNAT just before the October 15th deadline. I then read about the uncertainty of Access courses being accepted for the Cambridge Law course, and how they're more suited for the foundation year.

Should I still rush to get my LNAT sat and my UCAS application done before October 15th? The LNAT is already paid, so I don't have much choice but to take it. Would it be more beneficial if I delay it to the Foundation Year January deadline so I can study more and get some extracurricular done for my UCAS application? (Disabilities do not help to fill out employment history.) Is there any benefit to me taking the LNAT for a Foundation Year application?

Thank you!

Hey,

I'm a mature student currently on the FY after taking some time out due to a disability. If you're studying the access course, I'd recommend applying for the FY because:
A) your access teachers can give Cambridge a more accurate gauge of your progress
B) having a disability in Cambridge is hard: the FY is a great stepping stone as it gives you some time to work out how to juggle everything
C) Law is extremely competitive and demanding. Best to see how you'd fare in the FY before committing to a degree.

I'd still take the LNAT (especially if you're applying to other unis) but I'd personally go through the FY route
