Reply 83

I did like it, but not as much atm, and it goes with my chemistry.

I love the human biology stuff, but ecology... :shifty:... is boring and pointless

Arghh revising immunity, I think this is one of the hardest parts due to all the different types of T cells, then B cells, memory cells, plasma cells ARGHHGHG. What exactly do we need to know? I've done so many notes but still not all the types, a little help??
Not even started on heart, lungs, etc and the biochem just goes straight over my head and cholera seeing as I was away for this.. Grr I need a B but it's not gonna happen.
Not even started maths yet which is the day after and got an E in the mock :'(

what do you have to know for the course of infection of tuberculosis, im stuck on what you need to know.

I'm wondering aswell, how much do we need to know about the lung diseases?

for tb: the course of infection, symptoms, the actual bacterium and those most at risk I'd say.
And the other lungs disease what they do to the lungs and what they're brought about by
e.g
emphysema affects alveoli's surface area by breaking down the walls
caused mostly by smoking long term..etc:smile:

Biology on the 8th.....Chemistry,c1,s1 on the 9th Next week is gonna be a killer. Anyone know if we have to learn the graps for respiration and heart rates and stuff like that??

Reply 91

For the chemistry exam, the long structured questions towards the end the 8-12 mark questions, can we get full marks if we like just write stuff down in bullet points?

I think you have to know the pressure inside the parts of the heart graphs, im not sure about the other tho, probably as long as you can interpret a graph if you are given one.

You'll get full marks on the question, but you'll lose the 3 marks for QWC.

Wow...

I'm really surprised that other people think the same as me...

I also thought, when looking at the past papers and mark schemes,in some of the questions, the examiners seem to be asking one thing and expect a totally different answer, and often the wording of the question is horrible and awkward...

Anyway, how have u guys revised for all the different things that are in the course past paper wise? I mean there isnt a paper we can practise on is there, except for the specimen paper?

Reply 95

I know I don't know what I'm gonna do though I've been given quite a few past questions to do but I've answered most of them and marked them, can just learn those I guess

I'm so :santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2: for this exam.

Don't worry...hopefully they'll do better with the actual paper than with the specimen paper...

I'm not worried about the content of the exam as much as I'm worried about the wording and expected answers...I do know my stuff in a fair amount of detail, just the wording and depth of answers they require catches me out :shifty:

I've had a hard time trying to self teach everything for the past week. :o:

ha I know what u mean! Some of it, im just like "what!? i've never hear of this before!".....

is it me, or are there soo many long and confusingly spelled words that are so hard to remember?

:santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2::santa2: hate AQA and hate mark schemes/wording of questions etc

I never know what they're asking me; most of the time I know the answer and it's straight forward but it never appears that way in the question.:shifty: :frown:
