How to revise?!?!

Hey I'm in year 13 now and the stress of revision is starting to get to me but I have never learnt to revise.
See I missed a lot of school during secondary school and didn't revise for any of my exams but still got 7-9 around the board just due to natural academic ability (adhd (o) anyways I have no clue how to revise. I'm predicted 3 a* somehow in business psychology and Spanish but I don't know how to revise and I need to figure out how I'll take any tips I can get please, I really struggle with attention span so I need a lot of help Thanks so much in advance
Anything would help even a revision timetable anything at all

spend 5 minutes reviewing work from each lesson (so 30 minutes if you have 6 lessons daily) and i would strongly recommend physicsandmathstutor.com where you can find revision notes and past papers to work on with your revision (do NOT stare at a textbook for a whole 2 hours as you wouldn't learn much from that). But only do 20-minute slots don't do over 20 minutes each time, take a 5 minute break from each slot and around 3~4 slots daily would be enough. But I would recommend you to revise for different subjects for each slot so let's say English Language in the first slot and then Maths in second and Science in third and so on, and I would always spend more time on subjects which I struggle the most if I were you. AND, if you ever get stuck on certain concepts in lessons do NOT let it slide, ask for help or do researches until you've finally gotten the hang of it and understand it fully. I know this is a lot sorry but best of luck with your studies. :3

Hi @Emma19ryls,

I hope you are well! Revision can be daunting especially when you are not 100% confident on what to do. There are so many different ways to revise and sometimes abit of trial and error can be the best solution. If you search up different ways of revising and work through them then you will find the technique that works for you! I would also recommend past papers as a way of revision. I struggled with revision for A Levels however when someone suggested going over past papers it changed everything! They are amazing to really get your head around the layout of the exam papers and also using the mark scheme to go over your answers can give you a great insight into what the examiners are looking for. Past papers are also brilliant for working on timing for the real thing!

Writing notes on paper rather than online can really help with retaining information, I found that I concentrated more when writing actual notes over typing therefore the information is easier to remember!

I hope this response has helped slightly! Let me know if you have any more questions I am more than happy to help!

Thanks, Matt 🙂

i do another MFL (german) and although it varies to Spanish, im sure how i revise will be similar: make (online) flashcards of words, especially new ones and synonyms-eg AQA German loves synonyms of ordinary words. (what really helps is doing a set of online flashcards instead of doomscrolling!)for the grammar, im planning to make tables to fill in for articles, endings etc. not sure if you’re applying for Oxbridge but practice Oxford’s past MLAT papers! i do them for German and they’re a tough mix of grammar and translation, but very good practice (and go through them with your teacher if possible)
