UCL Pharm with dent ps

Hi! I didn’t do too well on my UCAT (1910 band 2) but I still want to take a chance and apply to KCL dentistry and the ESDP. So I’m doing those two as my dental applications but the three others as pharmacy at UCL, KCL, and Kingston - I only want to apply in London to be close to home. I emailed UCL SoP and asked if it would be fine to apply with a dental personal statement and they said it would probably get rejected. I need advice because I don’t know what to do now. I’m trying to make my personal statement more about healthcare but obviously dentistry so I’m worried that I’ll get rejected from pharmacy. Those are the only two courses that I’m really interested in so I’ll be gutted if I don’t get any offers. What should I do? Do I continue applying to pharmacy with a dentistry personal statement or do I scrap dentistry if it’s too ambitious and ruining my chances?

Thank you for tagging us @McGinger, and i'm very sorry this is causing you so much distress @abject-expediter. In some circumstances, universities will allow you to submit another personal statement when you're applying to quite different courses however this is not always the case. You could email UCL and SoP again asking if this would be okay, and send one to us as well ([email protected]). I would also speak to your tutor at your current school or whichever teacher has been helping you with your application as they should be able to offer some advice, this is quite a common occurrence so please don't stress yourself out too much as a lot of students have had a similar problem before and i'm sure theres a solution. Another option is also to work out a way for your application to speak about both subjects and how they tie together and what interested you to them in the first place.

Hopefully this helps and best of luck!
