What’s it like taking English language alevel

Would you recommend it? I’m interested in speech and language therapy but not set on it. I know that it’s not a requirement and the a level content will be covered in the first year though

What is English language alevel like? Would you recommend? How much work is it?

Hi,
(just FYI this is all my experience, you may not go through the same thing)

I'm a second year in English language A level and its honestly terrible. Though I enjoy the content and the workload is the lightest out of all three A levels, it is also the most difficult to improve in unless you are proficient in essay writing and/or your teacher is good. My credentials: I got a 9 in both English lit and language at GCSE and naturally expected it to be an easier walk in the park than the rest of my A levels (not saying I thought it'd be easy, just easier than the rest of my Alevels). Ironically, its the one I do the worst in. Mainly its due to the lack of support from my English teacher who doesn't even provide extra work when we ask her to and looking at our work is like a chore. One thing to note, there aren't alot of resources for English language A level, especially for Edexcel which is the exam board that I do.

So, to conclude from your suffering English language senior, don't do English language Alevel. Sincerely. (unless you are mega good/interested/have good teacher).
