MEng and BEng Offers in Mechanical Engineering

Hi - I have 5 A's at SQA Higher (English, Maths, Physics, Chemistry and History. I am studying Advanced Higher Maths and Physics in 6th year, as well as Sport Education. I want to study Mechanical Engineering at University of Glasgow or University of Strathclyde. I need to submit my UCAS choices soon. What I am trying to work out is if I apply to either uni for the MEng in Mechanical Engineering and ultimately don't meet the conditional offer requirement, am I guaranteed of a space on the BEng Mechanical Engineering course at each university? Or to ensure I am covered, should I apply for both the BEng and MEng at say Glasgow Uni, thereby providing a fallback if I do not get the necessary grades for the MEng course? Many thanks.

If you apply to the MEng and miss your offer but meet the requirements for the BEng, you're not guaranteed a place on it. If you miss your offer then universities don't have to offer you an alternative. Are you concerned about missing an offer with straight A's at higher?
