🎓 Ask a 3rd Year - Sociology with Psychology & Data Analytics at City Uni

Hi everyone! 👋

I'm going into my third year of Sociology with Psychology and Data Analytics at City University of London, and thought I'd make a thread for anyone who's just started or is in first/second year. 🎓

When I was new, I had loads of questions about how the degree is split, which psychology electives to pick, how the data side works 📊and what to expect with the dissertation. Now that I'm in my final year, I can share a bit of what I've learnt and hopefully make things easier for you. 😊

A quick outline of the course:
- Mainly sociology- that is the course subject throughout.
- Psychology modules are built in, especially in first year, and later you choose psychology electives that suit your interests 🧠.
- Data Analytics runs through research methods modules, and if you take the Q-step pathway you'll get extra stats and quant experience through data analytics modules and placement 📈.
- Final year project/dissertation is a big part of the degree (I'm going to start mine soon! 📝)

If you've just started and have questions about modules, choosing electives, balancing sociology/psych ⚖️, or even student life at City, feel free to ask here!

Also, if you want to see the official course structure with all the modules listed, City has it here:
