need help picking a bank!

hiya, so i'm an international student who just started their course at uni, and i need to pick a bank to open a bank account. i had been considering Santander (bc of the rail card and other things), but i cannot apply for their student edge deal, and their general account doesn't have any suitable benefits.
i have been looking at other banks and websites, but there's not a lot of information for international students :')
any help is apprecriated!

Some banks offer specific accounts for international students, and of course you could just apply for a standard current account at a bank of your choice.

Accounts for international students don't normally come with any benefits or perks.

Banks offer the benefits (interest-free overdrafts, etc) because they're want to attract new customers who are going to have an ongoing relationship with them after they graduate. And they know that a lot of customers will stay with their bank for many years, possibly decades. (It was an oft-quoted statistic in the past that people were more likely to divorce than change bank.)

Most international students are likely to leave the UK when they finish their course, and so that long-term relationship won't happen. So the banks are much less interested in attracting them in by offering perks and benefits -- and hence simply don't offer or provide them.
