gap year & applying edinburgh uni

hey, i'm applying to medicine this year and i'm considering applying to edinburgh, but i'm concerned that i'll be 2 years older than everyone else in my year as i've taken a gap year, and am from the uk.
does anyone know if this will be the case, if most people who go to edinburgh are from the uk/ scotland, and how common are gap years?

Nobody cares about age at uni. I have two years on everyone on my cohort and it's a non-issue and a truly imperceptible age difference in young adulthood.

The majority of people on Edinburgh Med will be Scottish or Rest of UK (RUK) because international places are severely capped. But so are RUK spots and so if that's you, you should go to https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7532244 and post your stats to get advice on how wise is it to apply to Edinburgh
