Geography / environmental science of some sort degree

Hii, I am currently in year 12 and I am studying Geography, French, Psychology and an EPQ after having recently dropped English lit. I do not know for certain which degree I want to study but so far geography or envrionmental geoscience look interesting. However, most universities have a list of required subjects for these degrees where you need to have a minimum of 2 a-levels from: physics, chemistry, biology, maths, geography, environmental science or geology. I am not sure whether I should add environmental science as a fourth subject ( but four subjects was a lot for me before I dropped one) or switch out psychology ( but I am enjoying both french and psychology). Sorry that this is a lot but any advice would be very helpful!

I started a level env sci in September so would be happy to answer any questions about it 🙂
If you want to go into stem then, as you’d correctly pointed out, youre likely going to need 2 stem subjects. Some unis might accept geography and psychology but most will want a more relevant earth or core science subject like env sci, chemistry etc

'Only Geography' is perfectly okay for most Env Sci degrees and often Geology etc. If Unis dont actually state that 'a second science is preferred', it isn't, and you will be fine with just Geog. Look at the details of the unit options within each degree - even if its called 'Environmental Science', Geology and Earth Science units may also be included

My son has just started Env Sci at Exeter (Penryn) with Geography, Philosophy and Economics A Levels so definitely check around unis and it's often a course in clearing so they'll be open to various A Levels.

Check out geography degrees at unis, offering modules in environmental science. They're less likely to ask for STEM subjects, but the degree can still lead to a career in env science or conservation if that is the direction you want to go in.

geography and psychology are often both considered sciences, so unless the uni has a specific list of subjects you'll probably be fine. you can email the admissions tutors if you want to know if a subject is accepted (if you do, mention the epq, this can affect entry requirements)
