Exeter College

I'm looking to apply for Exeter College, mainly because my school suggested 4 colleges and I prefer Exeter out of all of them. I'm not very sure about the accommodation since some pictures on Google reminds me of prison. I know all first years live on Turl Street so I want to know what's it like. If you are currently in Exeter, would you rather be in another college and why?

I'm curious, which colleges did your school recommend? And why?

I recommend St. John's, Hertford, Teddy Hall and Univ.

Also, don't forget to checkout: "The Oxford University Alternative Prospectus." 😉

Many of the older colleges have high walls around their boundary, although I've never thought it made it look like a prison. Perhaps the absence of guards patrolling the grounds with rottweilers, barbed wire and search lights help to give it a more comfortable and secluded look. Exeter college is centrally placed, close to the shops and Broad street where the city council put on Xmas fairs, and other occasional entertainment. Accommodation is likely to be variable depending upon the age of the building you're in. Food is good.
If you're looking for something resembling an open prison, try St. Catz 🙂
