Hi there,

I did medical biology at uni.

You will come across some statistical and chemistry concepts, you will not be able to avoid those unfortunately.

two sciences (biology and physics), are fine. I would double check in case a specific uni wants chemistry, but other than that, you current combination seems fine.

Kind regards, Jenifer (Kingston rep)

Hi there,

Yes you can still study Biomedical Sciences without A-level Chemistry. Personally, I did Biology, Chemistry and Geography at A-level before coming to Warwick, but there are students on my course who didn’t take Chemistry. In their first year, they took an additional chemistry module to help them catch up, since a certain level of chemistry knowledge is important for the degree.

Not having Chemistry at A-level shouldn’t stop you from studying Biomedical Sciences at most universities, and it won’t harm your future career prospects in the field. As long as you’re prepared to engage with some chemistry content at university level, you’ll be able to succeed.

Best wishes,
