Manchester School of Art Offer Rates

Hi all, I am planning on applying to Illustration and Animation BA Hons at MMU School of Art 2026 Entry and I was just looking at the offer rate on UCAS and it's... 37%?!?!?! UCAS is also telling me that the average grades students enter with is BBB. I'm just a little worried. I live in Manchester and I'm predicted AA*A* and consider myself on track to achieve those grades but the offer rate is just REALLY worrying me. I am applying to courses at other universities but all of their offer rates are 80~%. I understand that the MMU School of Art is regarded quite highly when it comes to their facilities but I was just wondering how I should go about approaching this offer rate or maybe just some advice. Just anxious is all - anyone in the same boat? Thank you

Hi @myriadtruths

It's great to hear you're interested in our BA (Hons) Illustration with Animation course for next year. Currently, the UCAS tariff points for this course are minimum 104, which equates to BCC grades, so you should be perfectly fine. Please don't worry.

I'm not sure where the offer rate has come from on UCAS, but this does seem off. We would advise you follow the portfolio guidance detailed on our website, here, to give yourself the best opportunity for success with your application.

Also, if you haven't already, hopefully you can attend one of our upcoming undergraduate open days, where you'll be able to chat with the School of Art academics and current students, tour the facilities, view accommodation etc. You can book your place here.

Hope this helps and good luck with your application.
Mel 😊
