UCL Accommodation & Living Monthly Costs???

Hi,

I plan on applying to UCL and am asking to see if any UCL students can break down their monthly and yearly costs. Obviously, London is very expensive but please can someone tell me what they pay per week for accommodation, what length contract they are on for their accomodation (be it 38 weeks or 52 weeks) and a breakdown of what the other monthly costs are like - Tfl journeys, groceries, night life, utilities, phone bills etc.

Also, if any UCL student is reading this and they instead commute to uni and live at home, please could you say what your commuting costs, how long your commute is and whether or not you wish you had an accommodation (yk to stay close and not wake up early and what not).

Cheers in advance 🙏🙏

Hi @mateo_colombo

I don't personally study at KCL but I do have a post about how much I spend in Kington which is in London. The accommodation will be different as I think it is slightly cheaper in Kingston, but I am sure you could check the accommodation websites for pricing. Same with communing you might be able to work it if you know where you will be travelling to daily.

Here's the post Monthly Spending Expenses as a Kingston Student - The Student Room
Hope it helps
