Thread title: What’s Going On in Nottingham This Month? 🦆🎡

Hey everyone!

With the new academic year kicking off, thought I’d make a quick post about what’s happening around Nottingham this month 👀 Whether you’re a fresher settling in or a returning student looking for stuff to do between lectures, there’s actually loads going on right now both on and off campus.

In the City:

🎡Goose Fair is Back!
Probably one of the biggest events in Notts this time of year it’s at the Forest Rec and it’s on now. Loads of rides (they’ve added some new ones this year), food stalls, and a proper fairground vibe. Honestly, even if you’re not into rides, the atmosphere alone is worth it.

🎭 Threatre Royal & Royal Concert Hall
If you’re more into the artsy side of things, definitely worth checking their schedule they’ve always got something going on, from big musicals to classical concerts.

Outdoorsy Vibes:

Wollaton Park - Massive park, deer just casually roaming about, great for a Sunday walk or if you just need a break from campus life. Also, Batman’s house (Wayne Manor from The Dark Knight Rises) was filmed there, so there’s that.

The Arboretum - Close to the city centre and super peaceful. Great for chill days or a picnic with mates.

Lakeside Arts - Over near Uni Park, nice lake views + arts events going on from time to time.

On Campus

UoN is running loads of events right now from societies doing taster sessions to random fun stuff to help you meet people. You can check out the full list here: UoN Events Page (← worth a browse).

Also, if you’re into sports or just want to try something new, BUCS season starts in the second week of October 💚💛 Whether you want to play or just cheer on the Green and Gold teams, now’s the time to get involved: UoN Sports - What's On

TLDR

September/October in Notts = perfect time to explore, try new stuff, and make the most of both uni life and the city itself. Let me know if there’s anything else worth checking out that I’ve missed!

Has anyone been to the Goose Fair yet? 👇
