Unmotivated, stuck and unsure of what to do (Year 13)

Doe here, I'm in my second year of Sixth Form. After GCSE's I wasn't really sure of what to do, but my parents wanted me to do A-Levels at college. I took Film Studies, Media Studies and Enterprise and Entrepreneurship, as they sounded the least boring. Initially, I somewhat enjoyed Film and Media, however I hated E&E. I stopped going to E&E for months, however they only let me drop it at the start of Year 13, where they put me on a year of AS Applied Law. Over time, my motivation for my subjects began to decrease, and I stopped doing assignments. I was trying to work with the college to get it done, but I just couldn't do it. I'm on PIP for mental health and disabilities, and I don't have a clue what to do with my life. I’ve completely lost motivation and I feel like I can’t do this anymore. I need help.

Don't fully take my word but I'm fairly sure college is still free to go to for the first time as long as you're under 25 or smth. So maybe something to consider could be dropping out and just living your life, maybe working part time or full time in whatever job and using the spare time to explore your interests and figure out what you want. I'm not too sure if this is still possible for you since you've already started college, but I'm wondering if you could since you haven't completed college yet and you have a valid backing with PIP.

Remember to focus on what you want and not what your parents want. It'll be even harder to learn what you enjoy and want to do if you don't make your own decisions and let others persuade you. Others may say that they know better, but in the end its your life and its completely normal to not know what your passion is at that age (makes me sound old saying that I'm only 18😭) and its very common for passions to change over time. Ig somewhere to start would be considering money vs enjoyment as well.

I think I've yapped enough lol, hope it helps ) - from someone who's also struggled with the same
