Facebook requests help

I need some advice so please help. At the end of June I messaged someone on Facebook and requested to follow them, I have not seen this person in 7 years but I would love I see them again and miss them a great deal. 3 months later my message has not been responded to, my request has not been accepted (Or declined) and this person has gained 5 facebook friends none of whom are me. I don’t know what to do, i still want to see them again but I’m becoming increasingly disheartened. So do I:

A) Leave the friend request and message as they are and keep hoping
B) Cancel the friend request, unsend the message and keep the happy memories untouched by this situation
C) Cancel the friend request, unsend the message but follow their PUBLIC instagram and send the message on instagram
D) Leave the friend request and message on facebook and also follow them on instagram

I really don’t know , any other suggestions would be appreciated

I think it's A, unless leaving it outstanding is causing you discomfort in which case I would do B. 7 years is a long while and they could have chosen not to connect with you for a variety of reasons, many of which have nothing to do with how they feel about you.
