Can I transfer uni now in September? (Second year)

I am currently at uni of Manchester studying chemical engineering

I want to transfer to uni of Birmingham for chemical engineering

I am going into second year uni.

I had requested a transfer early this year due to my dad’s health being poor, and I could commute from home to uni of Birmingham as I am from Birmingham. I had rang UoB and they said I had to do a new UCAS application but apart from that everything was fine and my courses and grades aligned. I also contacted my UoM tutor and he said the same.
My dad’s health got better so I ended up staying at Manchester.

However, this week all of a sudden my mental health has hit an all time low due to an event that happened about a week or two ago and it’s been affected me greatly and I’ve been struggling to breathe and go out of the house due to this. I have been to the doctors twice and they say it’s anxiety. I’ve been struggling with panic attacks and I genuinely feel like I’ll struggle if I am at Manchester. I missed all of freshers week and some of the start of the academic week but I’ve been catching up at home.
I really want to transfer to uni of Birmingham due to this.
Is there any chance they’ll accept me?
Considering the actual academic week JUST started today at UoB?

I was going to ring UoB but their call lines are closed. I am going to email them too now
I would recommend calling them tomorrow rather than relying on an email. They could take a week or two to respond which won’t be helpful given the
situation.

I would make reference to the previous enquiry so they know that the consideration isn’t starting from scratch.

I'm not sure what you want meto elaborate on - I have seen these sorts of switches happen in week I. It is still quite rare, but it gets exponentially more difficult thereafter.

Ohhh okay I understand. Is there anything I can to increase my likelihood of acceptance? I got the grades and my modules align and everything

Just do as Admit-One says, really. there are a lot of factors outside of your control - course subscription rates, general in-term transfer policy etc. Fingers crossed!

I had rang uob and they said they can’t take transfers because the deadline had passed (24th), even though the academic year lectures just started yesterday.
I’m really upset

Unfortunately if they have a deadline for requests then they have to be fair and consistent with how they apply it. Whilst the course may have just started, there is a large amount of admin they'd need to complete so they can't just have you on campus tomorrow.

Would you consider withdrawing temporarily from you current uni? That would give you space to decide whether a switch of uni next year is in your best interests, and maybe get further help for your anxiety.
