Too ambitious? Cambridge, UCL, Imperial, Bristol med

Ok I got all 9s at GCSE, UCAT score 2400 band 1
Predicted 4 A*

Are these choices (Cambridge, UCL, Imperial, Bristol) too risky?
Thanks!

I would ruthlessly examine your application i.e. a detailed review of your credentials & relevant supercurricula activities then i would review your stats against all the medical schools in the UK and try to identify where you have the highest ‘fit’ from an admissions perspective.

My understanding unless you’re interested in something very very specific in general the career opportunities from a medical perspective especially at the start are pretty much equivalent, and given the competitiveness i would prioritize acceptance over other factors.

Perhaps some flexibility if you’re interested in a specific area of medical research or geographical preference but in general getting your foot in the door is the most important outcome.

Cambridge is the riskiest as they have the lowest post-interview offer rate out of all four.

you've got excellent GCSEs, have you considered oxford instead? they weigh GCSEs a lot more heavily and have a much much higher post interview rate than Cambridge. Lots of my friends who applied to Cambridge last year with really good stats (for example one of them had 18 grade 9 GCSEs, 4A* predicted, 3000+ UCAT), still got no offer post interview! so just be a little bit careful. Your other options are fine though.

Oxford is calling your name! 2400 UCAT and all 9s at GCSE- I mean your pretty much guaranteed an interview and much easier to nail that with Oxford's higher post interview offer rate than Cambridge. They are pretty similar in terms of course structure anyway. Play to your strengths!

I would definitely replace one of them for a less risky option in case something happens you have an option to fall back on
