Special Support Loan - PIP evidence

I have an application for student finance and I am eligible for the special support loan too. I've got a PIP letter to support this, but as it doesn't have an end date SFE won't accept it. My condition is lifelong and ongoing so my PIP letter states this too and they can't change anything about this. I've told SFE this and they say that they can't accept it without an end date so what am I supposed to do?

It's sending me in circles that PIP is ongoing without an end date and SFE won't accept an ongoing date. How do I get around this please to be able to get the support I need.

Thank you

Hi there,

It would be best for us to take a second look at your evidence, can you please login and send us a live chat (between 8am and 7pm)? One of our team will be able to help.

Thanks, Graeme

Thanks for the response, I've tried a live chat and again I was told that it has to have an end date and there's no way I can get a letter with an end date

Hi there,

Does the letter confirm the above on it or confirm you'll be in receipt of this during the academic year? If not, then we would need a letter from your provider confirming this. We likely have sent an email confirming what to send (we can't access on this platform). Once we have that evidence we'll be able to reassess you for the special support loan. Thanks, Jason

If it's ongoing because it's for life then isn't it already for this academic year by default? I've been in touch with PIP and they sent the exact same letter that I've already sent to SFE which was rejected for no end date. There's no way to get an end date because it's life long, that's what they've told me on the phone
Thanks

You can try uploading a cover letter explaining this to your account for the team to review. Thanks, Jason

You can try uploading a cover letter explaining this to your account for the team to review. Alternatively, if the letter does state this, you could always ask them for a new letter confirming there isn't an end date. If the letter does already state that then just upload the cover letter. Thanks, Jason

I'll try that thanks

For feedback, there needs to be a better way to do this and an easier way to get in touch when I need help, it was only by chance that I found this thread and luckily you were fast to reply
