My placement is 2 hours away?!

Hello,

I am going into year 2 of occupational therapy and I start my next placement very soon. I've been alloacted to work two hours away which I now have to make preparations for. Does anyone have experience with having to get accomodation near placement and does anyone know accomodations in grays/essex area I can stay at?

What university are you at?

Are you able to get some money back from where you are staying if you are not living at
Home?

Yes not sure how Universities give distance placements like that

If you are not on placement 5 days a week for so many weeks then perhaps can book into something cheap like hotel rooms or rent if long term placement

You can book accommodation for the days you are on placement and claim it back from the NHS LSF (have you applied for the training grant?). The most you can claim back is £82.50 per night so choose your accommodation with this in mind. Search on Air BnB and booking.com for small apartments so that you will have facilities to prepare your own meals. You can also claim for your travel expenses to your accommodation from uni.
