Will I get funding for this year?

Here is my situation:

Started university in 2022 September. Dropped out to improve grades and go to different uni. So used up a year of funding.

Started different university in 2023 September. I'm now in Year 3, but I failed one module in Year 2 and now the university are saying that I will need take this Year 2 module in Year 3 and do one less Year 3 module. Meaning I will have to do the last Year 3 module in 2026/2027 academic year.

So my question is, am I still eligble for funding? Will SFE fund my Year 3? I understand that I will probably have to fund the single module in 2026/2027 academic year which is fine. I believe it will be in the £1000-£1500 range. But I am not sure if SFE will still fund this academic year?

Hi there,

We fund all years of a course + 1 year and then minus any previous study you have. If you're repeating your second year (for a second time), then you wouldn't receive tuition fees for this year - but would for your final year of the course.

If you have to repeat an additional year of funding on top of that, you may be eligible for an additional year of tuition fees if you had previously left or repeated a year due to reasons outwith your control. I've enclosed further information on this below:

Thanks, Jason
