Multiple courses through ucas

Is it ok to apply for two similar courses at Glasgow university as part of ucas application

As far as I'm aware you can apply for two courses at the same uni through ucas, the uni will know that you've applied to two different courses with them but I don't think that will affect your chances? However what will affect your chances is that you can only submit one personal statement, which needs to be tailored towards the course you want to take, although as you've said the courses are similar hopefully this won't be too much of an issue, just bear it in mind and tailor your personal statement more towards your favourite course (but bear in mind it'll need to apply to the second course too).

Alternatively, if you have a favourite course maybe look for other unis that have that course as then you have more chance of getting onto that course if all of your choices are the same course, and your personal statement can be focused on that course which could improve your chances of getting an offer. I hope this helps, maybe look on Glasgow uni's website to see if they say anything about applying to two courses just in case they don't accept it (as some unis might not) or if it'll affect your application in any way, and ucas should have articles about applying for two courses at the same uni too. However as the courses are similar it should be ok, as a lot of the time the issue is that if you apply for very different courses the uni will think you won't be dedicated to the course you end up on.
