Attendance for Accreditation

Im a student at the University of Northampton doing Biomedical science. Im in my third year and I recently found out that my University has made it so that unless you have have 85% attendance the degree won't be accredited.

In the past couple of years all we knew was that attendance would be checked up on and we might get an email if its below 80%. This also did not happen as many people including myself did not have any such email.

Obviously its my own fault that my attendance was low but im wondering with 66% average over the past 2 yrs is there any way I can make this work?

Even if I have 100% this year its not gonna take me 85% total and I still dont know if they mean on a yearly basis or total attendance. Does anyone know if I can do extra summer work to increase my attendance?

I dont want to call attention to my attendance just yet at uni so im asking here first 🫠

Honestly this will probably sound a bit crazy given my attendance, but i was planning on trying to get into graduate medicine, but I lowkey flopped the ucat. Maybe this is a sign I should just give up TT

Unless there are mitigating circumstances for your low attendance (that you can provide solid evidence for, and convincingly explain why you didn't present the evidence at the time of absence), I think it's a long shot. There's no point in pretending it isn't happening though. Look at the attendance policies for your course (handbook), speak to your personal tutor (if you have one) and discuss with attendance so you know eactly how far short you are. You need plan and you can't make one without knowing the whole picture.

I wouldn't even think about GEM at this point. Sort this issue out first, then you can think about what comes next.
