Successfully Secured Maintenance Loan & DSA for OU Study (Disability Support)

Hello,
Just wanted to share my experience in case it helps others going through the same process.
I recently applied for a maintenance loan for my Open University distance learning course, as well as Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA), due to my disability.
For evidence, I submitted:

The Medical Declaration Form

A detailed letter from my psychiatrist explaining my condition

My most recent PIP award letter (valid for 8 years)

Proof of my LCWRA award from Universal Credit

Student Finance England (SFE) accepted all of it without issue. I was approved for both the maintenance loan and DSA. My maintenance loan includes the Special Support Element £4,461.

I applied the end of July and recieved my award letter on 25th September.
I'm due to have my needs assesment with Capita.

Hope that helps
