Is it bad to namedrop a different course in my personal statement

Im applying to environment and sustainable development at lse but geography everywhere else because my interests and ps align more with the content in e&sd than lse's geography course. however, i talk about my interest in studying geography twice. i know lse places a lot of importance on the personal statement, but environment and sustainable development is essentially their version of a physical/environmental geography degree so i was hoping it wouldnt be a dealbreaker. is this okay or should i change it just to be safe?

Not a personal statement reviewer but I think you should be ok. Universities know you're applying for more than 1 and possibly several different courses, and from what you've said they should be similar enough, so you're good. Just make sure it covers both courses
If you want, you can use TSRs personal statement review service - its free!
Worth checking with the E&SD uni as to whether they might accept a statement submitted directly to them. Some more niche courses are happy to do this.

Would it be possible to be more specific in your ps and name a topic instead of saying geography (assuming that the topic is part of both degrees)
