Lse ppe

Hi,
I'm in yr 13 rn thinking of my uni options and I want to apply for LSE for PPE, however my grades are decent with A* in English lit lang, B in maths, B in Econ, and not so great gcse grades with an average of 6.5. I do have like great work experiences such as: shadowing a mayor, working at a wealth management firm and charity work. I have made my own blog on PPE topics, completed Leafs online course on maths of morality. I do apply for a contextual as l'm from a quintile 1 area and have adhd and was wondering if I could get into LSE?
You'd really be leaning on the contextual flags as potentially being the saving grace here. I'm not sure what LSE's contextual offer scheme is - you would need to check that.

Realistically a B in maths is rather low for any economics degree at LSE I think? The economics courses there are fairly mathematically rigorous. Is there a reason you're looking at PPE (or LSE specifically) when your best grade is in another field entirely?

Yeah, I love Econ and politics, to me they’re really interesting. And I wouldn’t take English because I think it’s boring. PPE tends to have less maths in there than regular Econ. But lse is my dream uni

LSE PPE students do the same economics options as single honours PPE students as far as I'm aware, so that's something to bear in mind!

Is there a reason you're also specifically applying to PPE instead of politics and economics since those are your main interest areas? I believe politics and economics students actually do take slightly different, less quantitative economics options so may be a better fit for both your interests and inclinations

I don’t mind the maths tbh, but my mind’s set on PPE unfortunately, I was meant to get an A in maths but got predicted lower.

What I think @artful_lounger is (correctly imo) trying to get at is that you probably have quite a low chance of being accepted for a quite quantitative degree with a B in maths and not very good GCSEs, at least by LSE standards. At the same time though, you may get in, and if not it is still only 1/5 options. So sure go for it, but don't be surprised if you get rejected. I guess that should be the general mindset for anyone applying to somewhere as competitive as LSE
