conversion factors

hey does any1 know how to convert from

cm-1 to m-1 to mm-1 to nm-1 and so on

and how to get from cm-1 to cm?

so from cm-1 to m-1 is it muliply by 100? and m-1 to nm-1 divide by million? .....

cm to m multiply by 100

mm to meter divide by 1000

micro meter to meter multiply by 1x10^-6

nano meter to meter multiply by 1x10^-9

To go from cm-1 to m-1 you do indeed multiply by 100.

To go from m-1 to nm-1 you need to divide by a billion (nano = 10-9) :smile:



so from m-1 to mm-1 to microm-1 to nm-1 its divide by 1000 each time
and goin in the ova way m-1 to cm-1 itl b divide

is the same as sayin 10^-3 10^2

so how wud i do the same for kg m^-1 s^-1?
