Cambridge interview dates

So I’m kind of worried, I’m filling out the my Cambridge application form at the moment, and it says that I need to keep the interview period on 1st-19th of December free. I booked something on the 5th of December in June, and it’s already paid for and I can’t reschedule or get a refund, but im also worried that if I tick the ‘I will not be available for one or more of the interview dates’ option that it will impact the chances of me getting offered an interview. At the time of booking, I wasn’t aware of the interview dates, and I wasn’t even 100% sure on applying to Cambridge. I also have mock exams on the fifth, and I definitely can’t reschedule those, with some ending after school. Does anyone have any advice? Should I tick the ‘available’ option and just take the risk it will be on the fifth and I’ll have to miss the stuff I’ve already organised or should I tick available anyway since it’s unlikely it will be on the fifth? It’s really stressing me out!!

I'm afraid I can't really help you with your December 5th thing that you've booked but if you speak to your tutor/teacher they should be able to help find a solution for your mocks. the teachers are there to help you as much as possible and should you be given an interview date for your mocks (which is unlikely although possible) they should rearrange the test to be before/after. i hope that helps somewhat. overall I'd personally take the risk or perhaps email your chosen college's admissions team to ask their advice.

Tick the ‘I will not be available for one or more of the interview dates’ option. Most peope will have at least one day they can't do.

It won't impact your chances at all, I had a day I couldn't do and I'm currently a student at Cambridge so I doubt it was such a problem for them lol. Better to tick the box now than having to email them anyway if they end up scheduling it on the 5th.

Yeah I would just reiterate if they want to offer you and an interview they will. This is just admin stuff to make you life easier when they give you a date. They probably don't look at this information until they've already decided whether or not give you an interview.

Thanks everyone to the replies! Ended up choosing available for all dates 🙂 I’m sure it’s unlikely to clash anyway- i was probably just overreacting aha
