Dentistry application help

I’ve just done my UCAT and got 1950 b2, predicted AAA, A in EPQ, and GCSEs 9877777666. I’m ready to take a gap year due to my UCAT, however I’m still thinking of applying this year. Currently considering Newcastle through partners programme, Liverpool, Cardiff, Plymouth (heard something about there being less available places this year for plymouth???). Can anyone tell me how realistic these uni choices are and if there are any other low UCAT unis worth applying for? Also any recommendations for 5th choice unis/courses? Considering optometry or pharmacy but don’t really want to have to do an interview.

Newcastle is not good choice. Required 2770 for partners last year which is equivalent to 2090 this year. Neither is Cardiff, as a non Welsh applicant you need max points for GCSEs which you do not have

Hiya, great to hear you're interested in studying at Plymouth 😊

I'm a current student here, although I wouldn't be too sure on dentistry application chances as I don't study this subject, however, I can link you to the current entry requirements here (under the apply section) to give you an idea.

We also have lots of upcoming open days which I'd highly recommend to give you a feel for the campus, hear about courses and view facilities.

If you have any general questions too about the university or city, feel free to let me know and I'd be happy to help 🙂

Best of luck with your application! 🙌

Tbh think you may as well as apply and take a shot, but the gap year is a good idea as with those GCSE's (I'm just realising mine are a bit low too for certain Uni's - Cardiff in particular) you really need a good UCAT score so you can apply to Uni's that dont look at your GCSE's too closely but give priority to UCAT. So I wouldn't apply to Cardiff. Liverpool is meant to be more hollistic and maybe Plymouth. Best of luck. It's brutal.😵*💫
