pharmacy at strathclyde advice.

hi! i'm a student in my last year of high school i wanted to apply for pharmacy at strathclyde however i am unsure if i would even be made an offer as i achieved a C at higher human biology and am currently doing advanced higher biology and advanced chemistry. any advice would be appreciated.

Hey Anon 🙂

What did you achieve overall in your Highers? Pharmacy is very competitive for applications so we might not be able to make you an offer this year if you unfortunately don't meet the entry requirements.

Our standard requirements are AAAB at Higher (Chemistry A, Biology A, Maths B, English B), AND BB at Advanced Higher (Chemistry B and/or Biology; Physics and Maths can be considered as an alternative to one). Normally we would look for a higher grade than C in your Higher Biology. If you are eligible for a contextual offer you would be working towards the 'minimum entry requirements' found on the website, but we would still look for strong grades in Biology and Chemistry at higher.

I'd perhaps recommend getting in touch directly with the MPharm admissions team at [email protected]. If they're not able to consider you for entry in 2026, they may be able to provide additional info on what you could do to be considered in future years.
