Bee's Y11 GYG- revision, revision, food, and more revision (save me)

Hi guys!

This is actually my first time doing something like this so I'm not really sure how it's going to go....

Anyway, my name is Bee and I am a Year 11 student in the South West of England. I go to a pretty competitive school and I want to stay on there for sixth form so I'm aiming for pretty high marks. PS: in this blog I might get upset at some exam/test results even though they are objectively good marks, but they just won't be what I'm personally aiming for, everyone is different!

Some things about me are that I LOVE figure skating (and the European Championships are being held in the UK but they clash with mocks which I'm not very happy about), I really like musicals especially Hamilton but I also like Les Mis and Wicked.

So the subjects I'm doing and I little bit about how I feel about them are:

Grades

Maths

English Lit

English Lang

Biology

Chemistry

Physics

Spanish

Computing

History

RS

So anyway, super long rants over. Let me know what subjects you guys are studying and aiming for!

Update: 4th October
I'm ill today guys so I haven't done much and don't really plan on doing much other than lying in bed and listening to music lol but I have sooo many testssss
On Monday I have a Biology test on Protein Synthesis and all the mRNA etc etc is making my head hurt
On Wednesday I have a Physics test on Solids Liquids and Gases which in theory I understand but what always happens is I go into the exam and flop
On Thursday I have a Chemistry test on Organic Chemistry and methane ethane etc etc which I am struggling with so not expecting amazing results for it. Still going to work hard for it tho ofc
Cos I'm ill like I mentioned earlier I missed school on Friday so I missed a Comp Sci test on SQLs or SLQs or whatever they're called, my friend said it wasn't too hard tho so I should be fine when I have to do it. I also missed a Spanish test but I don't think my teacher will bother making me do that.
I also have Maths homework on algebraic fractions due Wednesday but I find that pretty easy so I'm just gonna do a little bit of that whenever I can and gradually get it done
Oh yeah and History notes on anti-Vietnam War protests and their effects due Monday :frown:

My plan is to revise a bit for Bio, do some maths and my history today, and then tomorrow I'll do a bit more bio, and some physics and chem

Wish me luck :frown:

I went to see a comedian last night so I didn't manage to get any revision done, but in lessons I got a biology test back and got an 8!
On Sunday I managed to make some Physics solids liquids and gases notes, make some biology inheritance flashcards, and make some chemistry flashcards.
I have some family over tonight so I'm not going to try to do too much today, probably just revise for the chemistry test I have on Thursday, and maybe start an English essay on Act 2 Scene 2 of a midsummer nights dream that I have due for monday

I haven't posted anything lately sorry D:
I've been sooo busy with school and social life and everything.
I still haven't got my solids liquids and gases physics test back yet, or my chemistry as I was ill when he gave them back.
The flu has been going around my school- thankfully I'm better now but I was really ill for about a week.

I have sparx maths hw due Wednesday but I really can't be bothered rn, I might start it after dinner tho. My school breaks up for half term on Wednesday and I have an English essay on AMSND Act 3 due after half term and also a chemistry test on rates of reaction.
Why does it never endddddddd

Also I worked out I have 84 days til mocks (47 non-school days)- scary!!! That means I can devote just over a week to each subject, although there's no way I'm getting everything I want done before mocks done in that time. I guess there's nothing I can do but try. Wish me luck!

I went on half term on Thursday, and my plan was to catch up with revision so then I don't have to stress when school starts again as I'm doing a lot of clubs and also helping out backstage with the upper school play which will take up more and more of my time until the performance in December.
That plan is going awfully.
Tbf I have done some revision every day, but it hasn't been very productive or very much.

I had parents evening recently but it was just with my tutor going over my academic check.

For my academic check (latest set of predicted grades) I got:
Maths- 8
English- 9 (for lit and lang)
Biology- 8
Chemistry- 7
Physics- 7
Spanish- 9
Computing- 8
History- 9
RS- 9

So pretty much exactly what I was expecting, which is good because I was worried I would go down a grade in Physics as I messed up my Astrophysics test a lot.
Tests I have got back recently:
Physics- Astrophysics 6 (originally a 5 but found a mark my teacher hadn't given me so got boosted to a 6)
Biology- got my ecology test from months ago back and got an 8. Also got a genetics mini test back and also got an 8.
Spanish- we did a grammar exercise and I got 9/10 because I made a stupid error which is annoying, but still happy with the overall score. We also did a short writing tense that I got 9/10 on because I used the wrong tense in a sentence accidentally. I also did a long writing task which my teacher said was very good.

Over half term the homework I have to do is:
Maths past paper
English essay
Physics revision for test on energy resources/stores/transfers etc
Chemistry test on rates of reaction
Practice some Spanish speaking
Catch up on some computing work that I didn't do because A) my teacher hadn't taught us anything about the task and was off ill and B) it was last lesson on the last day of term and I honestly just couldn't be bothered.

So far I've only done a tiny bit of Physics revision and some Germany History revision 😭

Update: 30th October
So far this half term I have been really wasting all my time 😭

I just finished and marked my maths past paper, I made a stupid mistake tho which cost me so many marks so I got a 7 instead of the 8 I was hoping for.
Yesterday I revised some core practicals for physics but didn't do much as I was spending time with my family.

The plan for today is to make notes on To Kill a Mockingbird, do some more physics revision, and also hopefully some History as I'm so behind on it!!
I'm not at home for half term and I realised I left all my flashcards at home which is really annoying, so I think I'll do some mind maps to condense my notes, and then my teachers recommended sticking mind maps up on the walls so I look at them every day briefly so I think I'll do that.
So many people have been saying they do corbettmaths 5 a day so I'm going to check that out as it seems good.
Thanks for reading!
