Uni courses

Hi,
I’m in Year 13 and I take A Level Biology, Chemistry and Psychology. I was thinking of applying to study medical physiology as I want to do something health related and work in a clinical environment. However I’m not 100% sure. What other courses should I consider?

Hey there,

With your A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, and Psychology, you’ve got a strong foundation for several health and science-focused degrees at LSBU. You might like our BSc Biomedical Science, which looks at how the body functions in health and disease and includes plenty of hands-on lab work. It’s accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science and can lead to careers in NHS laboratories, research, or diagnostics.

If you’re more drawn to the psychological and behavioural aspects of health, LSBU’s BSc Psychology is a great choice. It’s accredited by the British Psychological Society and opens routes into health psychology, mental health support, or further postgraduate study.

And if you decide you’d like direct clinical experience, LSBU also offers degrees in Nursing, Diagnostic Radiography, and Operating Department Practice, all with NHS placements and professional registration upon graduation.

You can also chat with our current students on Unibuddy if you’d like to ask about their experiences or what studying at LSBU is really like https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/student-life/chat

I’d really encourage you to join us at our Open Day https://www.lsbu.ac.uk/study/study-at-lsbu/open-days on the 15th November as you’ll be able to chat with our lecturers, current students, and admissions team to get a real feel for the course and career path.
