Applying twice to Imperial

Hey everyone,

I’m currently in the process of deciding which universities to apply to for engineering and I’m a bit torn about my options. I’m mainly looking at Mechanical Engineering, but I’m also considering Aeronautical Engineering as a potential option.

Here are the universities I’m thinking about:

Mechanical Engineering at Imperial

Mechanical Engineering at Edinburgh

Mechanical Engineering at UCL

Engineering at Cambridge

Engineering at King’s College London

I’ve been looking into Imperial for both Mechanical Engineering and Aeronautical Engineering, but I’m not sure if it’s worth applying to Imperial for Aeronautical Engineering, considering I’m already applying for Mechanical Engineering there. Is it smart to apply for both, or is it better to focus on just one? I'd probably remove Kings for the other Imperial degree.

I know both courses are quite different in terms of focus, but I’m unsure if applying to both could hurt my chances or if it would make me a more competitive applicant. Would love to hear if anyone has any insights or experience with these programs at Imperial or if applying to both makes sense!
