Which dental schools to apply for??

Hi guys, seeing if anyone could provide me some advice on where to apply for dentistry this year. I want to have the highest possible chance of getting in this year, as gap year doesn't seem to viable for me. Bit worried becuase my UCAT is looking a little low.

GCSE: 9999999988 + A additional maths

A level predicted: A*A*A*A (A in biology, A* in maths, chem, econ)

UCAT: 2080 B2

Contextual: POLAR4 Q1, IMD Q2, young carer

Looking into KCL (due to higher GCSE weighting), Glasgow (low UCAT, high post interview chance) right now, Queen's Belfast (low UCAT weighting).
Considering QMUL, liverpool, and Leeds as well.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Defo go for Belfast, Leeds and also Cardiff given your GCSEs.
KCL is risky despite your GCSEs as your UCAT will drag your overall score down and rank you lower.
Glasgow, Liverpool, Sheffield will be far safer.

Choose at least one medical school that will make you an offer requiring significantly lower A levels grades then you are predicted. You need an "insurance offer" as well as your 1st choose as it is unpredictable if you will get an issue with A level exams.

hi i got 2090 band 1 in my ucat which is sadly 79% decile. I also got 999988887 in my gcses and A*A*A predicted. I'm thinking of applying to cardiff, leeds and Liverpool. I'm also thinking of applying to qmul as my postcode enables me to get a contextual offer. Do you think it would be unreasonable for me to apply to cardiff as they favour welsh students?

Think your GCSE's would get you an interview at Cardiff as they would get the full 28 points. Ans Liverpool good option. Leeds apparently weight UCAT result and GCSE's equally so maybe a bit riskier. Good luck.

It's not like they favour Welsh applicants outright, but Welsh applicants are treated as one of the contextual categories so get an extra point or so for the GCSE score and a lower UCAT cut-off, I would guess.
If you are contextual for QMUL, have you checked may be you also qualify for Cardiff and the others.
But even if you don't qualify, with your GCSEs, you will score the maximum 28 points anyway at Cardiff (4pts for your 7A*s), which means you're through to the next stage where they use UCAT. With your score of 2090, you'll be very competitive as last year lowest was around 1900 equivalent which would probably have been contextual. So, even as a non-contextual, non-Welsh, I think you have a good chance there.
Why not Plymouth as well? Cut off should be around 2020.
QMUL, have you checked what their UCAT cut-off was last year for contextual? Be sure it's not above your score.
